If you or a parent were adopted, then you may still be eligible to apply, given that there is reasonable proof to show the lineage from your grandparent to you.
An application may be considered via any one of the four grandparents, alive or deceased, who were born in the UK.
The visa is not considered for those applicants who had a great-grandparent born in the UK. This relation is too far removed for the purposes of the visa application.
If you are outside of the UK, then you must apply for Entry Clearance in order to travel to the UK on the basis of your ancestry. We can assist you with this matter.
If you are already in the UK under a different visa category, then there may be the opportunity for us to apply for you to be considered for the Ancestry Visa, without you having to leave the UK. We would recommend that you contact us so we can advise you if you are eligible
The Visa is issued for a period of Four Years and during that time you may work without restriction, employed or self-employed. You may also freely exit and re-enter the UK multiple times.
